Match Preview

Arsenal are just 3 points behind Chelsea who occupy 3rd and are staying within touching distance at the top of the table. They are 7th in the league at the moment but the fans will be expecting a home win here. The Sanchez saga clearly had an effect on the side early in the season and their form has picked up since the closure of the transfer window. They have won 4 out of their last 5 games in all competitions the only blemish a draw away at Chelsea. The remain without Cazorla, Chambers, Welbeck and Coquelin. They have won 3 from 3 this season at home scoring 9 goals and conceding 3. Those 3 goals came against Leicester and they’ve since kept 2 clean sheets. Lacazette has hit the ground running and may have knocked Sanchez of his pedestal. The fans have a new idol but if the two find a way to work together they could be deadly. The defence will always be vulnerable but they are likely to control the game here. A couple of wins have taken Brighton up the table sitting 13th with 7 points. They will rely heavily on their home form this season and have picked up 6 points in their last 2 games at the Amex. They’ve drawn 1 and lost 2 of their last 3 away games both defeats coming against Bournemouth. Sidwell, Kayal and Baldock are sidelined. They’ve picked up just a solitary point on the road this season, conceding 4 and scoring just 1. They managed a clean sheet against Watford and have failed to score in the other 2 matches. Arsenal have the firepower to beat Brighton here, the away side lack that attacking threat on the road. It should be a comfortable, but not emphatic win.
