Match Preview

Man City are top of the table on goal difference and will be looking to carry on their impressive form. They have won the last 5 fixtures and have conceded just 1 goal in that period, scoring 16. That run has taken them to 19 points from 7 league games with just 2 points dropped against Everton after playing the majority of the game with 10 men. Aguero remains injured alongside Mendy and Kompany, but the Argentinian striker has returned to light training, a huge boost for City fans.  They have won 2 and drawn 1 at home this season scoring 11 goals and conceding just 1. They are dominating possession and the defence is making far fewer mistakes with Ederson a marked improvement in goal. That back 4 has coped well with injuries and has 5 clean sheets in 7 league games. The attack was never going to be an issue and Aguero has 6 league goals with Sterling (5), Jesus (5) and Sane (3) highlighting the firepower City have on offer.  Stoke have struggled again this season after a promising start. The draw against Man United saw them lose 3 consecutive games, with the home win over Southampton a much needed result. That saw them climb to 13th in the table on 8 points prior to the international break. They could be without key players Allen, Shawcross, Ngoy, and Martins Indi here. They’ve scored 2 goals away from home this season and have collected just 1 point from 3 games. They’ve managed to keep it tight on the road with just 3 conceded although the attacking quality of Newcastle, West Brom and Everton are greatly surpassed here. They are unlikely to break down this City defence. Crouch leads the goal scoring with 2 league goals, Saido Berahino seems incapable of finding the net. Everything points to a comfortable home win and Stoke have conceded 4 in 3 of the last 5 meetings.
